The PHPs have gone out of control. You can get referred now for less than perfect patient satisfaction scores and sucked into their excessive monitoring program even if you were found to not be impaired by their 4-5 day inpatient eval process. The monitoring program is worse than having to wear an ankle bracelet and creates undue anxiety and I’m CERTAIN that these programs are RESPONSIBLE for the increase in physician suicide rates. If you are required to go to the PHP for any reason, GET A LAWYER IMMEDIATELY. Don’t wait until after.
Yes indeed. You can be forced into a 5-year monitoring contract for having “potential impairment.” That lowers the bar to almost nothing. At the freefalling rate this crazy train is plunging I predict the next FSPHP/FSMB update on physician impairment to include “potential potential impairment” – let’s cast an even wider net! My favorite though is “relapse without use.” How is it that the FSMB accepted this made up gibberish as a real thing? Makes about as much sense as “fever without a temperature.” Boggles the mind. How about “authoritative pronouncements without a brain” for the half-wits that accepted this nonsense.
It is time that real thinkers reroute this train wreck back to reality and address these meanderings of self-appointed, illegitimate and irrational authority. The conclusions here do not require science or critical reasoning just common-sense and 6th grade logic. How about limiting scope to real rather than imaginary things.
One of the big issues is that the PHPs ENCOURAGE doctors to become silent on the issue…to be shamed into silence. This is a typical tactic used by abusers. If people stay silent, nobody knows anything, just like in the Weinstein Hollywood scandals.
P.S. —The board system has the power of the Antichrist, and seem to be almost as evil. The internet is their tool to injure—if you are blackballed in one place, you are blackballed the whole world over, whether you deserve it or not—and you cannot buy or sell anywhere without their permission—and the make this decision capriciously, without due process, and lies serve their purpose much better than the truth, so they have absolute lack of concern about the truth.

In the mean time, have you ever submitted an article to any of AAPS’s journals? You ought to.
I do not know, having been away from formal academia for awhile – do journals which still print volumes on paper hold “more sway?”
